About This Content One of Germany’s earliest and most important railway routes between Berlin and Wittenberg is now available for Train Simulator. The origins of the route were established in 1840 by the Berlin-Anhalt Railway Company, who constructed a railway line between Berlin and Köthen, via Jüterborg and Dessau. The Berlin-Anhalt Railway Company was considered to be one of the most important railway companies in Germany and one of the first long-distance railways in the country. The route regularly carried at least 30 long-distance passenger trains in each direction daily, and was a major intersection for services running between Germany’s major cities and Eastern European countries, including the Czech Republic and Austria. During the GDR era, traffic on the route increased significantly as much freight was then carried by rail. The 115km (71 mile) route from Berlin Hbf to Wittenberg for Train Simulator, developed by Aerosoft, also features the unopened extension to Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Line S25 from Teltow to Potsdamer Platz, and sections of the North-South S-Bahn Tunnel in Berlin. Many of Berlin’s popular attractions also feature prominently, alongside freight lines at Lutherstadt Wittenberg Ost, Niedergörsdorf, Jüterbog and Luckenwalde, Rangierszenarien freight depot, the Container depot at Großbeeren and locomotive depot at Lutherstadt Wittenberg.ScenariosTen Scenarios For the Route:Introducing the RouteHome RunMorning Rush HourCarrying Airline PassengersCarrying Airline Passengers BackICE StormShunting in GroßbeerenContainers for BerlinJourney with ObstaclesNight TrainMore scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. NO I love German routes and now this one was on sale so I bought it. Big mistake. This route has no PZB, LZB or Sifa. So yea... That's bad. Also the textures are broken and cars are flying and weird stuff. Stay away from this route. trust me. There is a newer Berlin - Leipzig route made in 2016 so I will try that one intead. It's more expensive but propably better so yea.. At least that one has PZB and LZB. However you need to chance the locos for on that route because the standard trains don't come with PZB, LZB and Sifa. So that's a downside of that.. You should never ever buy this addon and I will explain why are the end.Berlin to Wittenburg, nice route. Looks nice, at least. That's about it. You could say this route is released in Beta for all the bugs that make it seem rushed and unfinished. Here's the good parts:Looks nice as a whole.Stations a modeled quite nicely. The bad parts:Does not come with the main stock, BR 112.The S-bahn line has track to where it ends but with no scenery. The sounds like roads and stuff are awful and loud. LZB does not work.Don't know about PZB... I'm a wimp. The speed limits. Don't get me started. They're all over the place. You're doing 160km\/h then suddenly it's 200km\/h without any signage. Then it will drop to 80km\/h then back to 160km\/h. That's what I mean by unfinished. So why should you NEVER buy this route despite the good parts? Berlin to Leipzig is available from JT, RT and Aerosoft and soon to be here on Steam. It includes the Berlin to Wittenberg line as well as the rest of the way to Leipzig. If you want Berlin to Wittenberg, wait for, and get Berlin to Leipzig which includes this route.. This is one fine piece of DLC released by virtualTracks (do note it was not made by DTG nor RSC), the map contains a lot custom builds and very high quality stations. Of course every TS game have issues, so the problem with this map is that it is no longer maintained, not even updated. DO NOTE, THE MAP IS NO LONGER UPDATED! But, there is a good news, the creator of the map releases third party upgrades for the map with his website that you can download to upgrade the track and fix a lot of oustanding issues and to add QuckDrive capabilities.Other then the major issues with the upgrading process, the second problem is the quality settings that we are enforced to abide by else we won't see sections of the scene that is right before us. Some users have to set their settings really high in order to be able to see certain builds and bridges, this can of course cause issues for most of us with mid-range PC's.So yeah, I'll rate this 9 out of 10 just due to the upgraded LZB system, quality of stations and the scenery that feels really nice. You can go and buy it at any time but I would recommend to buy it when it's on sale.. This is truly one of the nicest German routes one can have besides Hamburg-Hanover and Munich-Garmisch Partenkirchen. The Berlin Main station looks very detailed and so does the route to Lutherstadt Wittenberg via the intermediate underground station before the train emerges from the tunnel. You can run the ICE 1 , ICE 2 , ICE T , Talent 2 , BR423 , Siemens ES64U2 from HRQ in different liveries with the various IC\/EC consists you can think of or even the DB red Double decker coaches with driving cab end on this route and not feeling awkward at all or else , you can let your imagination run wild by running the ICE 3 and still fits on it. There 's even a third-rail equipped S-bahn map with over 20 stations on a 12km track in this route and the suitable stock for that can be downloaded at no cost as well when you search for BR481\/BR482. The only bummer is the long awaited QuickDrive update that never seems to arrive here on Steam as promised but again it can be fixed by downloading an update to this route on Virtual Tracks and the end result , the QuickDrive is quite decent with AI trains moving around the route on almost every timeslot you choose.. This route is good but a bit forgotten, i like having a drive on it from time to time. I could need some thing to make it a bit more special. But not a bad DLC.. It is hard to tell you if you should or should not buy this route. It does not have quick drive, but I guess you can make your own quick drive scenario. The detail and scenery is great and there's a lot of it.You don't get any new trains with the route, but you do get the double decker coaches which are great but they don't have a passenger view. All in all, I think that you should get this route if you really want it, or if it is in a sale. Posting this review to warn buyers they need to manually patch this route. Go to http:\/\/www.virtualtracks.net\/download.htm and look for "Berlin-Wittenberg Patch Version 1.26 hier herunterladen". You need this patch if you want Quick Drive and LZB!For some reason DTG won't release this patch on Steam. So you have to install it manually :\\It's a decent route for 200 km\/h commuter traffic. All of the included vehicles are the default German trains you probably already have. For driving on the S-bahn section to Teltow you'll have to download or create your own scenario. If you're looking to buy this route, you may want to get Berlin-Leipzig instead, which is the exact same as this route but it's further extended up to Leipzig.. There's no quick-drive! beware!
